SOBER CLUBBING | LIVE DJ | BANGIN TUNES | FREEDOM OF EXPRESSION | HIGH VIBRATIONS
SOMATIC ECSTATIC (SE) is an ecstatic dance experience like none other, elevated with a guided somatics practice at the start to support you to unwind your nervous system, soften your mind and loosen your body.
It’s the cathartic release you’ve been waiting for.
The conscious clubbing scene you wish existed when you were younger.
The stupid fun time you’ve been craving.
The community of wild hippie animal freaks you’ve been dying to be part of.The end result?
You, in your natural-born state of ecstasy.
High on your own supply.
Alive and free.You know;
your wild,
raw,
fully expressed,
confidence-of-a-5-year-old,
unfiltered essence that you likely had to push down a looong time ago, to stay inside the lines of “normal”?Yeah, that’s where we’re going back to.
-
Ecstatic dance is just… dancing.
(Soz if you were expecting something more grand hahah)
No choreography.
No structure.
Nothin to it.
Just dance. It’s simply allowing yourself to move freely.
Allowing your body,
your breath,
your spirit,
to move you, in whatever way it wants.Ecstatic dance is basically the sober version of a rave, or clubbing.
Complete with a live DJ, bangin’ tunes, moody low lighting and a clean conscious dancefloor.
What to expect at an ecstatic dance:
At any ecstatic dance, you’ll find people of all ages, genders and stages dancing and expressing themselves freely.
It is a wildly liberating scene that gives the phrase “let’s go hard” a whole new meaning.
The 3 main rules you’ll find on any ecstatic dancefloor are:
No shoes (+ wear comfy clothes)
No alcohol (or drugs of any kind)
No talking (body language only)
You’ll likely hear many names for it - ecstatic dance, free dance, free movement, conscious clubbing, sober clubbing... ALL of these terms are one and the same!
Ecstatic dancing isn’t about “performing” a dance.
It is not about achieving, striving, or trying to “be” anything,
other than your fully expressed self.
We do not dance to entertain.
To “look pretty”. To prove anything. We dance to touch our souls
and remember who we are
at our core.
To connect with each other beyond talking
To raise the collective frequency
To relish in the richness of the present moment
To trust the rhythm of our bodies again. You👏Literally👏Cannot👏Get👏This👏Wrong!👏
One can only describe what ecstatic dance is like so much.
You gotta be in it to truly taste the magic of it.
Ecstatic dance is a felt, embodied experience.Walk away with a regulated AF nervous system,
happy body,
calm mind,
+ feeling more you than ever before. -
The root word “soma” is of ancient Greek origin, which literally means “body”.
Somatics is an umbrella term encompassing a wiiide variety of body-focused activities that work at the nervous system level to release pent-up stress, tension and emotions of any kind – pleasurable, painful or anything in between.
There are 4 main pillars of somatics:
BREATH | SOUND | MOVEMENT | TOUCH
So literally any kind of activity you can think of that involves one or multiple of the above pillars, is of a somatic nature.
During SE I’ll be guiding you through a delicious combination of the above somatic pillars. Examples include:
𝐁𝐑𝐄𝐀𝐓𝐇 🫁 Literally any kind of diaphragmatic (belly) breathing, with a focus on more down-regulating techniques.
🤓 For the breathwork nerds: Breath ratios such as extended exhales, 4-7-8, box breathing, and mild breath retention.
Styles of breath such as ujjayi, full yogic breath (belly-ribs-chest), lion’s breath and brahmari.
I don’t really fuq with: nadi shodhana, kapalabhati, conscious connected breathwork nor any other super stimulating breathing styles. No point for them here - dance is up regulating enough, trust me!
𝐒𝐎𝐔𝐍𝐃 🗣️ Humming, sighing, AEIOU sounding, AUM chanting, hissing, yells. Note: I do not chant anything other than AUM.
𝐌𝐎𝐕𝐄𝐌𝐄𝐍𝐓 🕺 Stretching, swaying, bopping, hip figure 8’s, ragdoll arms, shoulder raise and drop, shaking, heel drops, stomping, air bashing, dancing (of course), and any other rhythmic, intuitive movements that arise in the moment.
(SELF) 𝐓𝐎𝐔𝐂𝐇 🧘♂️ Patting, brushing, caressing, havening, massaging, tapping, or holding/gently gripping your body with your hands.

The SE experience goes for 2.5 hours.
I’ll guide you through a somatics practice for the first 30 minutes (see above “What does “somatic” mean?” FAQ for more details about what’s involved in the somatics practice).
Once the somatics portion is finished, I’ll seamlessly guide you into your ecstatic dance.
The rest of the experience is all yours to play in.
No guidance.
No talking.
Just you,
the music,
the ecstatic dancefloor
and your like-hearted community.Towards the end of the dance, the music tempo will slow down and eventually, we’ll land in complete silence. I’ll invite you to find a comfortable position (laying down or sitting up) and be still, rest, and integrate your dance.
Some people like to stretch during this time, but most lay down and do nothing. No right or wrong! Do whatever the fuq ya wanna do homie. After our rest, I’ll gently guide you back to reality and open up the space for everyone to either make their way home, or connect with others first.
That’s it!

SOBER CLUBBING | LIVE DJ | BANGIN TUNES | FREEDOM OF EXPRESSION | HIGH VIBRATIONS
Upon arrival, treat it as if you’re rocking up to a club or rave.
Except instead of finding drunk humans, booze flying around and sticky floors, you’ll find humans stretching, dancing, meditating and expressing themselves freely.
The point is to dance - whatever “dance” means and looks like for you.
Even though I’ll be guiding you through a somatics practice for the first 30 minutes, please know that you by no means have to follow my guidance. You can start dancing whenever you want!
You are in complete control of your experience.
You have free reign, from the moment you walk in to the moment you leave.
Move, breathe and express yourself however you want. Rest whenever you need to. Let your body and soul guide you, above all.
You’ll notice the music will take you on a journey – starting out with slower rhythms to get you warmed up, gradually building up in intensity, reaching a peak, then slowing back down towards the end of the dance.
Enjoy the ride and let your body take you on an adventure!

I’m a multi-genre DJ, meaning I always create a music journey that is comprised of multiple music genres.
The predominant music genres I play are (but are not limited to):Primal beats (e.g. shamanic drums, didgeridoos, flutes, percussion instruments, throat singing and tribal-infused rhythms)
Trance
Dubstep
Electronic dance music (EDM)
Hardstyle
I love to kick off my sets with primal beats that awaken the animal body. The peak of my sets are best described as sexy, gritty, crazy, stupid, high-energy beats.
And the come-down/ending of my sets typically include deep, introspective, psychedelic, flowy tunes.

There are a plethora of benefits people can potentially gain from the SE experience. Here’s just some of them!:
~ Releases “feel-good” endorphins and gives you a natural high
~ Reduces stress and improves your overall sense of wellbeing
~ Aids in the management of various mental-emotional health conditions e.g. anxiety, ADHD, depression, PTSD, etc.
~ Helps develop a deeper sense of presence
~ Improves relationships and our ability to connect authentically with others
~ Improves brain functionality and boosts neuroplasticity (a function which enables us to shift beliefs that no longer serve us)
~ Boosts creativity
~ Increases longevity and vitality
~ Quietens a noisy mind and flushes out excess mental chatter
~ It’s the healthy emotional outlet you’ve been looking for – hello, emotional regulation!
Ever feel like you’ve got sooo much emotion bottled up inside of you that you might just explode at any minute?! I get it. And I got you!
The Latin derivative for the word emotion, 'emotere', literally means energy in motion. From a biological standpoint, emotions are a chemical process that starts in the brain which causes arousal of our nervous system, thus creating visceral feelings in our body (e.g. heartache, butterflies in your stomach, heaviness, lightness).
What we think of as an emotion is the experience of energy moving through the body.
When you allow yourself to actually feel an emotion in real-time as it comes up, and let the chemical process do its thing, the energy moves through you and out of you, naturally - typically within 90 seconds. That’s it. Freedom washes over every cell of your being, and you find yourself feeling whole again as your body returns to homeostasis.
We are typically not taught how to navigate and express our full spectrum of emotions in healthy ways. Over time, emotions that are not healthily released become bottled up inside our bodies, taking up so much of our precious energy.
This can manifest itself into our physical reality in numerous ways: chronic stress, anxiety, depression, inflammation, digestive issues, ongoing muscle tension, disordered eating, burn-out, frequent illnesses/compromised immune systems, dependence on drugs/alcohol/other substances to “get us by”, to name a few.
When we attempt to deny, outrun or suppress our emotions, they get stuck. We will never truly be free until we acknowledge and express them, which is exactly why the SE practice exists.

~ Enjoy being part of a hearty community
We weren’t made to go through this life alone. One of the most primal truths of this human existence is that we need (yes, need) loving connection with community in order to survive and thrive. Think about it: life would be pretty meaningless without your people around you, hey. So come be supported in your everything-ness alongside like-hearted humans in this safe space. The power of our collective frequency will blow your mind, crack open your heart and have you quantum leaping into the life of your wildest dreams. Your soul fam awaits x
~ Feel confident AF
Confidence has nothing to do with your external appearance, and everything to do with how you treat yourself internally. The SE space will level up your capacity for self-expression like nothing else + cultivate unfuckwithable confidence from within. Talk about a glow up!
~ You don’t even realise that you’re exercising.
Dancing is one of the most dynamic forms of cardiovascular exercise out there, and it just so happens to be the most enjoyable type of exercise EVER! (okay, maybe I’m a little biased). Ditch the treadmill and hit up the ecstatic dancefloor, for the sake of your sanity!
